07/23/2012 - Here was the hole, after we trimmed away the rest of the water damaged sheetrock.
We cut our patch piece and Adam helped by handing me the screws so that I could secure it.
After a little bit of coaching, Adam jumped up on the ladder and got to work with the joint compound.
After taping and another thin layer of joint compound, Adam shows off our handiwork. We need to let the joint compound dry before we proceed any further.
07/26/2012 - We didn't snap any photos today, but we did apply a bit more joint compound to the area. We'll let it dry a day or two and then begin sanding.
07/29/2012 - This morning, we got back to work! We took turns sanding...
And sanding...
Finally, we used a can of 'spray-on' texture to match the repaired area to the existing ceiling texture. We'll let it dry for a full day and (hopefully) paint the ceiling tomorrow!
